Welcome to the Take Home Tuesday. This week’s notifications include Reminders

Reminders:

  • Rainbow Room located in the gym is open until Friday, August 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A lot of gently used uniforms are still available. We are also looking for a few volunteers for Monday, August 21st to help put the uniforms back in the Rainbow Room.
  • Parent Meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 28th at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Our format includes an initial group meeting to receive information regarding the school. Parents are then invited to tour the classrooms. In order to make the first day easier, parents may drop off school supplies before the meeting at 5:30 or after the general session.
  • First Day of School for Grades 1 – 8 is on Tuesday, August 29th.
  • Kindergarten Welcome Day is on Tuesday, August 29th. Please see your welcome letter for specific time.
  • First Day of School For Kindergarten is on Wednesday, August 30th .
  • Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten Welcome Days are on Wednesday, August 30th and Thursday, August 31st. Please see your welcome letter for specific time.
  • First Day for Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten is on Tuesday, September 5th.

  • National Junior Honor Society: Student members of our National Junior Honor Society are collecting used cell phones to be recycled and donated to charity. Additionally, student members will be collecting donations for the Fairhaven Animal Shelter such as cat litter, cat/dog food/treats, blankets, pet toys and kennel supplies such as paper towels, wipes, bleach, etc. The collection boxes are located in the front foyer of Saint Joseph School and will remain there until June 1, 2017. Thank you for your anticipated support.
  • Stop & Shop A+ Program: Please remember to re-register for the A+ Program that Stop & Shop is offering. All you have to do is log on to www.stopandshop.com/aplus to register on line or call 1-877-275-2758 to register your card. Saint Joseph School ID# 06183. Reminders:

  • Yearbooks are still available, however there are only a few yearbooks left. The cost is $35.00.
  • Walkathon Summer Non-Uniform Week for students whose pledges were received by Friday, May 19th for Kindergarten – Grade 7 will be June 7th – June 13th. Students are allowed to wear shorts (appropriate length) and flip flops (PLEASE SEE DRESS CODE IN HANDBOOK) .

Welcome to the Take Home Tuesday. This week’s notifications include Reminders, Arts and Crafts Club Sign-up Flyer and Lions Club Save the Day Flyer.

Reminders:

  • Walkathon: Sponsor pledges of $150.00 per family were due today. If you have not yet sent in your pledges please do so by Friday, May 19th to be qualified for the summer non-uniform week. The Summer Non-Uniform Week, which includes shorts (appropriate length) and flip flops (PLEASE SEE DRESS CODE IN HANDBOOK) for Grade 8 will be Wednesday, May 24th, Friday, May 26th, Tuesday, May 30th, Wednesday, May 31st and Thursday, June 1st and for Kindergarten – Grade 7 will be June 7th – June 13th.
  • Scholastic Book Fair will be held Monday, May 15th to Friday, May 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Buy One Get One Free. This is a great time to purchase books for the summer.
  • Bake Sale: Mrs. Cronan’s Pre-School Class will be having their Bake Sale on Wednesday, May 17th during all lunches. Students may purchase one baked good for $.50.
  • Celebrating the Arts Night will be held on Thursday, May 18th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. During this evening you will have the opportunity to listen to musical ensembles as you stroll around the gym enjoying student visual artwork.  The string ensemble will begin the evening at 6:00 followed by the vocal ensemble better known as the St. Joseph School Glee Club.
  • May Birthday Non-Uniform Day will be on Friday, May 19th for those students whose birthday is in May.
  • Elementary School Dance will be held on Saturday May 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please submit any and all RSVP’s by tomorrow, Wednesday, May 17th.  This event has been rescheduled from February and we realize it is a difficult time of year.  So, please let us know for sure if you wish to attend because this event may need to be cancelled.  The PTO is also looking for 2-3 volunteers that would be interested in setting up (about 4:00 p.m.) , cleaning up (7:00 p.m.), and available during the dance (5:00-7:00 p.m.).  Please contact Marina at mfigue03@hotmail.com if you are willing to help.
  • Lions Club Save the Day: Come volunteer and help those less fortunate. Join the fun on Lions Volunteer Day at Dartmouth YMCA Community Farm, Saturday, May 20th, from 9a.m. – noon. Cookout to follow. Sharing the Harvest Community Farm is a non-profit, volunteer-driven farm that aims to help fight hunger in our community. It was established in 2006 to reduce hunger, create volunteer stewardship and increase agricultural education. The Community Farm provides fresh fruit and produce to area food pantries, over 300,000 lbs since 2006.  8:30a.m. registration, 9 a.m. assignments.  Volunteers will received a free T-shirt (while supplies last). Please see attached flyer.
  • G.N.B.C.S. Track Meet will be held on Sunday, May 21st at 12:30 p.m. at Cushman Park in Fairhaven. Please come and support the students from Saint Joseph School Running Club.
