Drama Club Performance – Winter 2016

Wednesday, January 27th, 2016

On January 15th and 16th, the St. Joseph Drama Club performed their own take on Disney’s The Little Mermaid(s) and Cinderella! Whether the club members were center stage, ensemble, or part of the backstage crew, they entertained a packed house! The students brought hard work outside of the classroom in combination with their creativity and talent. Elizabeth MacLellan would like to thank both students and their families for making her first show with the drama club a success.

Please enjoy the highlights from the Friday, January 15th evenings’ performance. If you are on a mobile device you can go directly to the the Flickr set.

Over the course of two concerts, students from grades Pre-K through 4th grade, along with Glee Club and Instrumental performers through grade 8, entertained audiences with their talent and joy of music.

Mardi Gras

Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

Students in all grades celebrated Mardi Gras as they proudly marched and showcased their handmade floats and decorations. Selected Kings and Queens voted for their favorite floats, and winners were awarded certificates. Some winning floats were named “Most creative”, “Most Enchanting”, or “Most Colorful”. The ceremony ended in prayer and reflection on the preparations that will take place during the Lenten season.

Live Stations Of the Cross

Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

Grade 8 students recently participated in a tradition that the school proudly presents each year.  The eighth grade class, led by teacher Mrs. Packard, presented the Live Stations of The Cross for students at the school in grades 3-7.  Students narrate each station and make connections to how we can grow and follow the example of Jesus in our everyday lives.  The service ended with the song, “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?”.

2014 Science Fair

Tuesday, January 28th, 2014

Students participated in the annual Science Fair on Thursday, January 23rd.

Students in Grades 4-8 were required to complete individual Science Fair projects, all following the scientific method, and exploring  background research.  Students in these grades were judged throughout the school day by area professionals, scientists, and students from Bishop Stang High School.  In the evening, families were invited to attend the award ceremony and speak with the students about their projects through personal presentations.  The enthusiasm for science seemed to become contagious, especially among the youngest of students.
