Drama Club Performance – Winter 2016

January 27th, 2016

On January 15th and 16th, the St. Joseph Drama Club performed their own take on Disney’s The Little Mermaid(s) and Cinderella! Whether the club members were center stage, ensemble, or part of the backstage crew, they entertained a packed house! The students brought hard work outside of the classroom in combination with their creativity and talent. Elizabeth MacLellan would like to thank both students and their families for making her first show with the drama club a success.

Please enjoy the highlights from the Friday, January 15th evenings’ performance. If you are on a mobile device you can go directly to the the Flickr set.

Garden Harvest – Soup was served!

September 29th, 2015

Last week was a busy one for the Kindergarten class and many volunteer parents! The students harvested approximately 40 lbs. of potatoes, 20 lbs of carrots, as well as onions, garlic, swiss chard, and parsley. The harvest was planted last spring by the current 1st grade class, and harvested by this year’s
current Kindergarten class. There were squeals of sheer glee as the potatoes- Red Bliss and Yukon Gold
varieties-were unearthed. Students also used all their strength to yank out some of the largest carrots I have ever seen!

Many thanks to Mrs. Amarello (1st grade), Mrs. Longfield (1st grade) and Mr. Peltier (Kindergarten) for peeling and chopping the vegetables on Wednesday, and to Mr. Murray (5th/7th grade) and Mrs. Pinto (Kindergarten) for serving the soup to any student who wanted a bowl.

Students came back for seconds, and even thirds. The soup was truly a hit! And many thanks to the following families who loaned their crock pots for cooking; Amarello, Gomes, Hebert, Hanks, Callahan, Pomfret, and Hartley. We couldn’t have done it without all your help!!
