Specialist teachers in grades preschool through 8 integrate the curriculum into all aspects of the specialist classes the children attend weekly. All teachers have copies of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and work to integrate these standards in their teaching. Students in grades preschool through 8 attend specialist classes on a weekly basis. These classes consist of:
A computer lab with individual workstations offers opportunity for hands on learning and discovery for all our students with instruction once a week. A computer is also located in each classroom. St. Joseph School is connected to the Internet.
Students in grades Preschool through 8 participate weekly in creative and artistic experiences. Students celebrate their works of art with an annual arts night to showcase their artwork.
Students in grades Preschool through 8 participate in foreign language education. St. Joseph School has strong ties to the Sacred Hearts Sisters who originated from France. We take pride in the history and language.
Students in grades Preschool through 8 participate weekly in music theory and movement. Students in grades 6 — 8 participate in a group chorus. All students participate in the annual Christmas and spring concert to showcase their accomplishments.
Students in grades Preschool through 8 participate weekly library class. Students research materials, discover authors, and work on the elements of story writing. Students also check out a library book weekly to bring home.
