Saint Joseph School - Fairhaven, Massachusetts

LEARNING FOR LIFE SINCE 1908

LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL: Mrs. Julie Vareika, M.Ed

The dream of St. Joseph School began in 1905 when the Community of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary were invited to build a parish community at St. Joseph Church in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Later, in 1908, a small group of sisters arrived from France to establish a teaching ministry. Under their leadership and guidance the school flourished and expanded with the construction of our current building in 1964.

Over one hundred years later, the mission of the school still remains focused on providing a quality education that is based on "Faith, Values, and Excellence". Our families offer tremendous support to our students and faculty by providing service to our school. Their commitment to our school and community is evident through parent volunteerism at events such as our Golf Tournament, Spring Gala, collections for Shepard's Pantry and our school "Dress Down Days" for charity.

The school staff continually seeks to improve our practice to meet student needs in the most effective manner. At Saint Joseph School we try to remain consistently aware of the partnership between school and home which enables the students to have the finest educational experience possible. The members of the school community offer their leadership to provide the best academic programs possible in a Catholic environment that meets the needs of our students in this ever-changing society.

This education is offered in an environment that is centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and transmits a value system based on compassion, understanding, honesty, and respect. In partnership with parents we strive to educate the whole child, nurturing the intellectual, religious, social, civic, psychological, moral, physical, aesthetic, and spiritual development of our learners.

A Catholic education is the single most important step in you child's education plan. It is here in an atmosphere of trust and love that you child will begin a spiritual journey. Elementary and Middle school is an important and unforgettable time, and for many of our students it is the most time they will spend at any one school or college.

We invite you to consider what a Catholic Education at St. Joseph School can offer your child to prepare him or her for a successful future. Call 508-996-1983 for further information.

Sincerely yours in the Spirit of the Sacred Hearts,
Mrs. Julie Vareika, M.Ed, Principal
